In a physical change the substances are not altered chemically. No new products are formed and chemical bonds are not broken.

A physical change can affect the size, shape or color of a substance but does not affect its composition.

A) In this example all the tailor did was change the shape of the fabric by making a suit.

B) In this example you mixed different components together. This is not a chemical change because if wanted the chef could still separate the lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers.
In each of the situations below, it seems that a new
substance may have been produced. Explain why each
situation represents a physical change. the example is a mechanic builds a boat engine out of a lawnmower?
just like B (the salad) you can still take apart/separate the substances from the lawnmower making it a physical not a chemical change.

(just my perspective on it not 100% sure if this is a valid answer)
