A car begins at rest at t0 = 0. The car starts moving and finally covers a distance d = 617 m in a time tf = 105 s. In a coordinate system with north being the positive x-direction, the car's motion is in the southern direction (see figure. What was the car's average speed during this period, in meters per second?.

avg speed=distance/time=617/105 Direction is S, and N is positive, however, speed does not include any direction notation.
avgspeed=617/105 m/s
avgspeed=617/105 m/s
