                Q. five times the sum of 3 and some number is 70. What is the number?
I did the problem and got 13...but the answer is 11. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong??
You must use parentheses when it says sum. 5(x +3) = 70 is correct set up.
5(x +3 )= 70
5x + 15 = 70
5x = 70 - 15
5 x = 55
x = 11
Thank you..i see where i went wrong
