do it just the way to multiply 2-digit numbers:

(23)(45) = (20+3)(40+5) = 20*40+3*40+10*5+3*5 = 1035

(7-6y)(7-4y)
= 7*7 + 7(-4y) - 6y(7) - 6y(-4y)
= 49 - 28y - 42y + 24y^2
= 49 - 70y + 24y^2
