A liquid mixture has 12.6 parts per thousand of MgCl2 dissolved.
Calculate the [Cl-] in ppt?

there are two Cl- for each magnesium chloride unit. 26.2 ppt for chloride ions

I think Mr. Pursley hit a 6 instead of a 5 and meant 2*12.6 = 25.2 ppt Cl^-.
