multiply top and bottom by 2
8 /(2/2)

(1/4) /(1/3) multiply top and bottom by 3

(3/4) / (3/3)
or
3/4

(15/4) / (1/3)
again top and bottom by 3
45/4 = 11 1/4

Invert the divisor and multiply.

4 * (2/1) = 8
