bobpursley He has to paint the top (PI*r^2), the side (PI*2r*3) the leg sides(4*12*3*3). He does not paint the bottome of the legs to keep the floor free of skuff marks. Now the bottom of the seat, less the leg area on it, or (PIr^2-4*3*3)
