well, they would be nice to know, but the crew of the carrier would presumably include a doctor and weather guy.

I'd pick D over A. Modern ships have lots of computers on board, and a knowledge of physics would come in handy in handling the ship.

Frankly, I don't like any of the answers but I agree with Steve, D is the best choice of those listed. I would like to see at least a course or two in "boatsmanship".
