A 25 N box is pulled vertically upward by means of a cord. Find the acceleration of the box if the tension in the cord is 35 N.

Net force up = 35 - 25 = 10 Newtons

F = m a

m = 25/9.8 = 2.55 kg
so
a = 10 / 2.55 = 3.92 m/s^2
