On a scale drawing 1/4 in equals 1 foot . If the length of a room on a scale drawing is 5 1/4in , how long is the room ?
I just need someone to help me through this problem cause I don't get how to do it at all .

One way to solve this problem is to set up a proportion. Cross multiply and solve for x. (Note that I changed the fractions to their decimal equivalents.)

0.25/1 = 5.25/x

0.25x = 5.25

x = 21 feet
