2. reduce the fraction to lowest terms
12/100 = 3/25

(if 1 decimal place, divide by 10
if 2 decimal places, divide by 100
if 3 decimal places divide by 100
etc
e.g.

= 2568/10000
= 131/1250

should have said:
if 3 decimal places divide by 1000

but you probably figured that out anyway.
