An ultrasonic motion sensor sends very short pulses for ultrasound to measure the distance to an object . The sensor cannot send another pulse until the echo form the previous pulse is detected. What is the maximum possible number of individual measurements per second if the distance turns out to be 1.50m? The velocity of ultrasound waves is equal to 344m/s.

The signal has to make a return trip, so the total distance is 2*1.5=3m
Number of round trips per second
= 344/3
= 114.7
Number of round trips per second
= 344/3
= 114.7
