Two electrical voltages have a total of 126 volts. If one voltage is 32 more than the other, find the voltages.

Started off with x =126V
Y = 32v

Sum and difference:
(sum+difference)/2 = larger number
(sum-difference)/2 = smaller number

If x is the smaller voltage, then x+32 is the larger one.

x + x+32 = 126
Now find x, and you have the smaller voltage.
