Does America have no elite class (such as early civilizations) because it it a democracy? Agree/disagree.
I am having trouble with this question.

Legally, the U.S. has no "elite class" because it is a democracy. However, socially, we have an elite class of people with one or all of these attributes:
* the very rich
* the highly educated
* descended from old, colonial families
* influential positions in government or business
