How did Southeast Asians react to contact
with many different religions?

They were heavily involved in maritime trade with everyone from China to Egypt even long before Vasco de Gama opened the Indian Ocean and then the South China Sea to European traders and they tended to adopt the religions brought by the people they traded with. That includes Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, and Christians for example.
