This seems like it would be a simple math problem but...... How do you create an equation and calculate the difference between 2 birthdays, putting the older person's on top?

Assuming you want the difference in days between dates.
It's a messy counting problem.
First note that the dates are written in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Difference in Months:
October-May=31+30+31+31+30=153 days
Difference in days
28-17=11 days
Difference in years
2002-1987=15 years including 4 leap years
=15*365+4
=5479 days
Total=153+11+5479=5643 days
