Claire wants to determine how brightly to illuminate her stage. stage width (in metres) x stage length (in metres) x 0.14 = total watts for stage
If her stage is 7.25 metros wide and 11.5 metres long,

a) calculate the exact number of watts needid to illuminate the stage
b) calculate the number of watts needid to illuminate the stage, rounded to the neares 10 watts,
c) write the answer to part a) in the form a x 10^k

a) is correct
b) you want to round off 11.6725 to the nearest 10 watts, <b>so that would be 10 watts.</b>
(11.6725 is closer to 10 than to 20)

c) no
it would be 1.16725 x 10^1

(you moved the decimal only 1 place)
