the area is 1/2 r^2 θ
= 1/2 * 2.9^2 * 160/180 π
= 11.74
The central angle of an octagon is 45°.
area = 1/2 apothem * perimeter
= 1/2 (4/tan 22.5°) * 8*8
= 309.0
= 1/2 * 2.9^2 * 160/180 π
= 11.74
