log2 x + log2 (x-7) = 3

log2( x/(x-7) ) = 3

x/(x-7) = 2^3 = 8
8x - 56 = x
7x = 56
x = 8

Hmm. I read it as

x(x-7) = 8

Oddly enough, the answer is the same!
