Use the dilution formula of
c1v1 = c2v2
c = concn
v = volume
0.4M x ? = 8M x 50 mL
Solve for ? mL
By the way, I think the accepted IUPAC name for HBr is hydrogen bromide.
The mono is unnecessary.
