just add the x's and y's:
(2+1)x + (-5+1) y
3x - 4y
(2+1)x + (-5+1) y
3x - 4y

3x-4y That because there is only 1x and 1y so 2+1=3 and -5+1=-4. That Leaves us to 3x-4y.
