Consider what language — other than English — that you would be most likely to use. If that is French, go for it.

Well, there is the option of Spanish, but I personally don't like how the language sounds and its mechanics. But yes, Spanish would be more useful than French in the U.S.

There will be PLENTY of time to learn both languages throughout your life. I would say go for the Spanish because it is the most commonly used language in America besides English.
