Mr. Anderson has a whirling sprinkler for watering his lawn. The sprinkler waters a circle whose length from the sprinkler to the edge of what is 12 meters. Find the area of the lawn that he can sprinkle at one time. I know it says find the area but my teacher said something about circumference and I am confused.

A = pi * r^2
A = 3.14 * r^2
A = 3.14 * 12 * 12
I don't know what the circumference has to do with this problem.
C = pi*d
A = 3.14 * r^2
A = 3.14 * 12 * 12
I don't know what the circumference has to do with this problem.
C = pi*d
