Identify the infinitive phrase in the following sentence.

Too many people drive to work when it would be just as easy for them to ride the bus.

well, since the only infinitive is "to ride" I guess it'd be (D), eh?

Extra credit: what is "to work"?

"to work" is a prepositional phrase.

"to" is both a preposition and a part of the infinitive construct. It can be confusing...

Look up diagramming sentences on line, and you may learn quite a bit about the construction of sentences. It used to be taught as a part of English instruction. I learned in the 8th grade, and it was invaluable. A good intro can be found here:
