8/6 = 1 1/3 Slice per person.
So you give each person 1 slice. Then,
cut each of the remaining 2 slices into 3 pieces. Then give each person 1 piece.

The problem is how the question is worded is not physically possible to do with 1 cake and 8 EQUAL pieces. Stupid common core math is ridiculous.
