(2/3)x = 4

x = 4 / (2/3)

x = 4 * (3/2)

x = 12/2 = 6

Answered by Anne
can you explain it for 3rd grade? don't understand what X is?
Answered by Ms. Sue
x represents the total number of toys.

The equation means 2/3 of some number is 4.

How did your teacher show you how to solve this kind of problem?
Answered by Anne
My teacher showed me in a way from like a few weeks ago. I almost don't remember. I
saw from other part of my homework but they were unit fractions. The questions are high level because they are Enrich level. So its kind of hard.
Answered by Anne
So then how can i draw it in a picture?
Answered by Ms. Sue
You could use an equivalent fraction.

2/3 = 4/6

Draw a rectangle with six equal boxes. Color 4 of these boxes.
