Asked by Brandi

I'm having trouble deciding on whether the verb in each sentence below is action or mental.
1. They decided on a menu for dinner.
2. The team scored its third touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Thanks...

You can see an action verb being performed.

What do you think?

Action or mental??

I think you mean action or linking, right?

Can you DO the verb in each sentence? If so, it's an action verb.

If not, it's a linking verb most likely!!
