X Heads to start with.
(X-24) = Bal.
(X-24) - 2/7(X-24) = 5/7(x-24).
5/7(X-24) = X/2
Multiply both sides by 14:
10x-240 = 7x
3x = 240
X = 80 Heads of lettuce.
(X-24) = Bal.
(X-24) - 2/7(X-24) = 5/7(x-24).
5/7(X-24) = X/2
Multiply both sides by 14:
10x-240 = 7x
3x = 240
X = 80 Heads of lettuce.

24 {heads of lettuce} x 2/7 [percentage sold in the afternoon] = 48
48 x 5/7 [amount remaining] = 240/7
(240/7) divided by (3/7)[remainder of 5/7-2/7=3/7]
240/7 x 7/3
= 240 divided by 3 = 80 heads of lettuce [the 7's cancels out]
ANSWER 80 HEADS OF LETTUCE
