Asked by Kaitlyn
You have $59.95 in your wallet and want to buy some new CDs. If the CDs are $11.99 each, what number of CDs, x, can you buy? Write and solve an inequality.
My answer:
11.99x ≤ 59.95
11.99x/11.99 ≤ 59.95/11.99
x ≤ 5
My answer:
11.99x ≤ 59.95
11.99x/11.99 ≤ 59.95/11.99
x ≤ 5

Could you explain how you did all of that and got it. I'm really bad at inequalities and need help. Please help me.

Here to Help!
I'm like a year late, but here is how I look at it.
So if you only have $59.95 in your wallet, you can only buy something equivalent to 59.95 or less. If each CD is 11.99, how many CDs can you buy before going over your limit? You can do 59.95÷11.99 to find this answer. It will equal 5. So you can only buy 5 CDs or less. So the equations would be 11.99x≤ 56.95. X≤ 5
Hope this Helped!!
