Can someone check my answers and tell me what I did wrong? Thank you!!
Find the following using the table given. X Y
-3 -21
-2 -18
1 -9
4 0
7 9
Rule: will it be y= 1/3x+9?
What is y when x= 5? Will it be y=0?
What is x when y= 5? Will it be x= 0?
What is the x- intercept? Is it 1/3?

check straight line from (4,0) to (7,9)
slope = (9-0)/(7-4) = 9/3 = 3
so NO, slope is 3, not 1/3
it is 3 for (-3,-21) to (7,9) as well
so I suspect (you check other points) the slope is 3 all the way
y = 3 x + b
put in (4,0)
0 = 3(4) + b
b = -12
So I think the rule is
y = 3 x - 12
when x = 5
y = 15 - 12 = 3 which is NOT 0
when y = 5
5 = 3 x - 12
3x = 15
x = 5 which is NOT 0
x intercept is when y = 0
0 = 3 x - 12
x = 4, not 1/3
