All sound OK except for "writings" in sentence 2. I'd change that to "stories" or "articles."

2. We can find a lot of useful writings in the English textbooks.
3. Speaking to oneself is a good way to improve speaking abilities.

Very good except "writings" in sentence two. A good word would be readings or stories. GOOD JOB! :)
