**Soda:** Soda fights to defend his friends and protect them.
**Two-Bit:** Two-Bit fights for fun and to show his loyalty to the Greasers.
**Darry:** Darry fights to protect his family and show that he’s strong.
**Pony:** Pony fights to stand up for his friends and for the Greaser identity.

2. **Evaluate:** I think some reasons are valid, like defending loved ones and showing loyalty. But fighting for fun seems less serious and can lead to more problems.

Paul Holden is a Soc who has a history with Darry. Darry hates him now for two reasons:
