A. -1/2
B. -2 1/2 <-----
C. -2
D. -2/5

Im not good with equations but I think the Answer is B but I feel like all of the answers could be wrong. I need someone to help teach me how to solve for this equation because I've been stuck on this for seriously an hour or more now.

-5y-9=(y-1)

Add 9 to both sides.

-5y = (y + 8)

Subtract y from both sides.

-4y = 8

Divide both sides by -4.

As you can see, B is not right.

I'll be glad to check your answer.
I got -4 divided by -4 equals 8 and -4 divided by 8 is -0.5

I think I don't something wrong because I'm confused
So it would be A???
-4y divided by -4 = y

8/-4 = -2

-4y = 8

y = -2
So basically I was just supposed to simplify by -4 with 8 till I couldn't simplify anymore....?...by the way I created another post about this one but with an extra question I wanted to get checked so I knew if it was correct or not because I thought you wouldn't respond to this one....can you please check it and look at question #2
