(What is the meaning of #1? Does #1 mean #2 or #3?)

Books' titles need to be in italics or underlined.

I have read the book, The Secret.
1 and 2 mean about the same thing. 3 means the same, but adds emphasis that the speaker knows the content of the book well. It would be better to write #3 like this, though:

I have read the book, The Secret, and I know its content.
