1)For an atom of carbon how many valence electrons are "s" electrons?

2

2) How many are "p" electrons?
4

3)How many (total) electrons in carbon are paired?
2

4) How many are unpaired?
1

Are these correct.

1)For an atom of carbon how many valence electrons are "s" electrons?
2
right

2) How many are "p" electrons?
4
I think the electron configuration for 6C is 1s2 2s2 2p2 so the answer can't be 4

3)How many (total) electrons in carbon are paired?
2
Looking at my electron configuration above the 1s2 are paired and the 2s2 are paired and that makes 4 electrons total. Right?

4) How many are unpaired?
1
If C has 6 electrons and 4 are paired, that leaves 2 that are unpaired. Right? Those are the 1 in Px and 1 in Py.
Thank you!
